The platform fee applies only with express consent. This version supplements self_billing_policy_2026-07-19_v1 with a platform fee (§ 6). It applies only if the Creator separately and expressly consents, and only to remuneration from posts submitted afterwards that is actually paid to them. Anyone not consenting to the platform fee continues to receive payouts without a platform fee, restriction or delay; fee consent is not a prerequisite for a payout. However, every payout, including already earned funds, requires consent to this version under § 1(2); self_billing_policy_2026-07-19_v1 is no longer sufficient (§ 7(2)). It remains available at /agb/gutschrift/self_billing_policy_2026-07-19_v1 in its full original wording.
This agreement specifies § 7(5) and (6) of the Creator Terms and governs how ContentMarkt settles Creator remuneration through self-billed invoices. It applies to all payouts through the platform. The platform fee under § 6 applies only following the Creator's separate express consent and only within the scope specified there. The Creator Terms otherwise remain unaffected.
1. Self-billing procedure
(1) Creator remuneration is settled through self-billed invoices within the meaning of § 14(2) UStG. The recipient of the Creator's service is Axel Springer Deutschland GmbH (“ContentMarkt”).
(2) By consenting to this agreement in the platform's payout setup, the Creator agrees to the self-billing procedure. No payout takes place without consent to this version or an earlier version remaining valid under § 7(2). This consent does not include the platform fee under § 6, which requires separate express consent (§ 6(2)).
(3) Every self-billed invoice is identified as such (“Gutschrift”) and contains the statutory mandatory information, in particular both parties' full names and addresses, issue date, consecutive number, service description (campaign and settlement period), remuneration and VAT information under § 3.
2. Data basis and cooperation
(1) Each self-billed invoice is based on the information confirmed by the Creator in their billing profile: legally binding name or company name, address, billing email address and, where available, tax number or VAT ID.
(2) The Creator keeps these details current and accurate. Changes must be updated in the billing profile before the next payout. The Creator is responsible for disadvantages resulting from outdated or inaccurate information; the Creator Terms' provisions on tax cooperation remain unaffected.
3. Value added tax
(1) If the Creator uses the small-business exemption under § 19 UStG, no VAT is stated in the self-billed invoice; it contains an appropriate notice.
(2) If the Creator is subject to VAT, VAT is stated based on their information. The Creator is responsible for accurately stating their VAT status and remitting tax themselves.
(3) This agreement does not constitute tax advice. The Creator independently clarifies tax questions.
4. Delivery and retention
(1) Self-billed invoices are provided electronically, generally in the platform's payout area and additionally by email to the billing email address. The Creator consents to electronic transmission.
(2) The Creator can download provided self-billed invoices. Provision does not affect the Creator's statutory retention obligations.
5. Objection and correction
(1) The Creator checks every self-billed invoice promptly and objects promptly in text form (for example by email to hallo@contentmarkt.net) if its content is incorrect.
(2) If the Creator objects, the self-billed invoice loses its effect as an invoice for VAT purposes. ContentMarkt reviews the objection and issues a corrected self-billed invoice if justified; unjustified objections are rejected with reasons. The affected payout may be deferred until an objection is clarified.
6. Platform fee and offsetting
(1) Fee and subject matter. From 6 October 2026, 00:00 Berlin time (“effective time”), ContentMarkt charges Creators who have consented under paragraph 2 a platform fee of 18% of fee-eligible funds when those funds are paid out (paragraph 4). The platform fee applies only to Creators with an address in Germany according to their billing profile (§ 2). The platform fee is consideration for ContentMarkt's own service to the Creator: providing the campaign on the platform and technically handling submission, review, measurement, settlement and payout. Registration remains free. In derogation from § 1(2), sentence 4 of the Creator Terms, use by Creators with fee consent is paid within the scope of this § 6.
(2) Separate express consent. Only a Creator who has separately and expressly consented to this version (“fee consent”), for example by selecting a checkbox that is not preselected and confirming in their account, owes the platform fee. Silence, continued platform use, consent to self-billing under § 1(2) and confirmation of the billing profile are not fee consent. Fee consent is possible only from the effective time; its version identifier, this version's checksum and the time are recorded.
(3) Not a prerequisite for payout. Fee consent is not a prerequisite for a payout. If the Creator does not consent, funds from existing service contracts — including funds arising only after the effective time — are paid without a platform fee, restriction of the account or payout, or delay. From the effective time, ContentMarkt may offer entry into a campaign in which the Creator does not yet participate, and new video submissions, only under this version's terms; before such new participation or submission, the Creator is asked for fee consent. Video submissions already effective, including their review, measurement, correction, resubmission, complaints and remuneration, remain unaffected by fee consent.
(4) Fee-eligible funds and protection of existing entitlements. Only remuneration from a video submission effective after both the effective time and fee consent (§ 1(3) and (5) of the Creator Terms) is fee-eligible, to the extent verifiably based on validated views recorded after that submission. Funds that are not fee-eligible (“protected”) include in particular (a) remuneration from video submissions effective before the effective time or fee consent, even if their views are recorded, checked, booked or paid later, including after correction, resubmission or complaint; (b) funds arising before fee consent; and (c) funds whose time of origin or contractual basis cannot be clearly verified. The time of effective video submission and view recording is decisive, not booking or payout time. Where remuneration is capped, protected funds are counted first.
(5) Only upon actual payout. The platform fee arises only upon successful payout of fee-eligible funds. Credited funds not requested for payout trigger no fee. If nothing is paid — for example because the Creator requests no funds, remuneration ceases under § 8 of the Creator Terms, or a transfer permanently fails — no platform fee applies. Payouts created before fee consent remain fee-free. ContentMarkt charges no base or minimum fee.
(6) Gross rate and calculation. The 18% is a gross rate: statutory VAT, where applicable, is included and not charged additionally. Thus 18% is deducted from fee-eligible funds, rounded commercially to whole cents per payout; VAT is not added, and protected funds remain undiminished. The fee is calculated separately for each payout; a request may include multiple payouts, generally one per campaign (§ 7(3) of the Creator Terms). The net consideration is calculated from the fee and rounded commercially to whole cents; the remainder is VAT.
(7) Separate invoice. The platform fee is consideration for a service from ContentMarkt to the Creator and is therefore not part of the self-billed invoice for their remuneration. For every payout subject to a platform fee, ContentMarkt issues the Creator a separate invoice (“fee invoice”). The issuer is Axel Springer Deutschland GmbH, and the recipient is the Creator using their billing-profile details (§ 2). The fee invoice includes in particular both parties' full names and addresses, ContentMarkt's VAT ID, invoice date, consecutive invoice number, service date, fee-eligible funds, net consideration, tax rate and tax amount, enabling an eligible Creator to claim input VAT. Following successful payout, it is provided electronically in the platform's payout area and can be downloaded there; the Creator consents to electronic transmission. If the Creator believes a fee invoice is incorrect, they notify ContentMarkt in text form (for example by email to hallo@contentmarkt.net); ContentMarkt reviews the objection and corrects an incorrect fee invoice.
(8) Offsetting. ContentMarkt's fee claim is offset against the Creator's payout claim. The difference is transferred. The self-billed invoice for remuneration remains at its full amount; offsetting does not reduce remuneration but satisfies the payout claim in the amount of the fee.
(9) Display before requesting payout. Before every request, ContentMarkt displays available funds before fees, the protected portion, fee-eligible funds, the platform fee including VAT and the remaining payout amount. If a payout's calculation changes before execution, that payout and subsequent payouts in the same request are not executed; payouts already executed in that request remain in place. The Creator can confirm the request again using the new calculation. Fully protected balances can be requested separately without a platform fee from the minimum amount applicable to every request, even while fee-eligible funds cannot yet be paid, for example because information required for the fee invoice is missing.
(10) Examples. For requested funds of EUR 100.00 that are entirely fee-eligible, the platform fee is EUR 18.00 gross, including EUR 15.13 net consideration and EUR 2.87 VAT (19%). EUR 82.00 is transferred; the self-billed invoice remains EUR 100.00. If only EUR 60.00 of EUR 100.00 is fee-eligible and EUR 40.00 is protected, the platform fee is EUR 10.80 gross, including EUR 9.08 net consideration and EUR 1.72 VAT (19%); EUR 89.20 is transferred. Without fee consent, EUR 100.00 is transferred and no fee invoice arises.
(11) Fixed calculation. A payout's platform fee is fixed when the payout is created and not changed afterwards. Later billing-profile changes or renewed consent under § 1(2) alter neither the fee-consent time nor protection under paragraph 4.
7. Version, changes and termination
(1) This agreement applies in the version to which the Creator most recently consented. The applicable version identifier is recorded with consent. Only separate fee consent under § 6(2) is decisive for the platform fee.
(2) If ContentMarkt changes this agreement, future payouts require renewed consent to the changed version unless ContentMarkt continues recognising the previous version as valid. ContentMarkt does not continue recognising self_billing_policy_2026-07-19_v1 as valid: future payouts, including already earned funds, require consent to this version under § 1(2), but not fee consent under § 6(2). Self-billed invoices and fee invoices already issued remain unaffected.
(3) The Creator may object to the self-billing procedure with effect for the future. In that case, payouts become possible again only once a permissible settlement procedure has been agreed.
