Kurzantwort
The short version
- In the Creator Rewards Program, TikTok pays roughly €0.40 to €0.80 per 1,000 qualified views, and only from 10,000 followers.
- Instagram has no reliable programme in Germany that pays per reels view.
- In brand campaigns the brand sets the rate per 1,000 views itself. It is usually several times what the platform pays.
- What always decides is the definition of a valid view: watch time, country and double counting change the result considerably.
The question sounds simple and still has no single number as an answer. What you get per 1,000 views depends on who is paying. The platform itself pays in cents and only lets you take part above a certain size. A brand buying your reach works in a different order of magnitude.
The short answer
- TikTok Creator Rewards: publicly reported figures for Germany sit roughly between €0.40 and €0.80 per 1,000 qualified views, sometimes well below. TikTok requires 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days.
- Instagram Reels: no reliable, generally open programme in Germany that pays per view.
- Brand campaign: the brand sets the rate per 1,000 validated views itself. It is usually several times the platform figure, but a budget cap applies. You see it before you commit.
TikTok Creator Rewards in detail
TikTok names no fixed rate per 1,000 views, and that is not an oversight. The amount comes from a share of ad revenue distributed across very many creators. It therefore moves with watch time, where viewers come from, engagement and rule compliance.
For a video to be eligible at all, TikTok sets out several conditions:
- Account sizeAt least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
- Minimum ageAt least 18, registered in an eligible country. Germany is one of them.
- Video lengthLonger than a minute. Short clips, duets, stitches and photo posts do not count.
- Qualified viewsOnly views from programme countries count. Views from fraud, paid distribution or inauthentic engagement are excluded.
In practice that means: with 8,000 followers you earn exactly nothing through this programme, however well the videos run.
Why Instagram barely pays per view
Instagram has tested various bonus programmes and discontinued them again. A permanent, generally open model paying per reels view in Germany does not currently exist. People who make money on Instagram make it through collaborations, affiliate or their own products. Reach is the argument there, not the source of income.
Platform against brand campaign
| Source | Rate per 1,000 views | Requirement | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok Creator Rewards | Roughly €0.40 to €0.80, variable | 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in 30 days, video over 1 minute | No fixed cap, but a variable rate |
| Instagram Reels | No reliable rate in Germany | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| Brand campaign via contentmarkt | Set by the brand, usually several times the platform figure | No positioned minimum size; the campaign has to fit you | A cap per campaign, visible in advance |
| Flat-fee collaboration | Depends on the result, arithmetically | A matter of negotiation | The amount is fixed, regardless of reach |
Worked example by reach
The left column uses €0.60 per 1,000, a mid-range reported figure for the TikTok programme. The right column shows how the same post works out in a brand campaign: put in the rate the campaign shows you before you commit.
| Validated views | TikTok programme, approx. €0.60 per 1,000 | Brand campaign |
|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | €3.00 | rate × 5 |
| 20,000 | €12.00 | rate × 20 |
| 100,000 | €60.00 | rate × 100 |
| 500,000 | €300.00 | rate × 500 |
The comparison comes out clearly, not least because a campaign rate per 1,000 views is usually several times that €0.60. Two qualifications belong with it. First, campaigns hit a cap once the budget is used up. Second, the 5,000 views in the first row are out of reach for the TikTok programme anyway, because the follower threshold comes first.
What counts as a valid view
The rate alone says little. What decides is which views count at all. TikTok speaks of qualified views and excludes, among other things, views from outside the programme countries and inauthentic engagement.
At contentmarkt the campaign snapshot sets what counts. That includes a minimum watch time, a deduplication window against double counting, and a geographic target region; the default is Germany, Austria and Switzerland. These are fixed before you take part, and later changes apply only to future submissions. After that comes a 7-day review period in which views can still be reclassified as not qualified; the lower figure is what gets paid.
Before any reduction takes effect you get a reason you can follow, listing the views affected, and a way to escalate. The burden of proof for fraudulent views lies with contentmarkt, not with you.
What this means for you
If you are below 10,000 followers, the TikTok programme is not an option, and Instagram does not pay per view in Germany anyway. The only route that makes your views worth money then runs through brands buying reach. The rate is higher there, but the cap is real.
If you are well above the threshold, the combination is worth it. The platform programme runs alongside, campaigns deliver the larger share, and you decide campaign by campaign whether the brand fits your profile.

FAQ
Common questions
How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views in Germany?
Publicly reported figures for the Creator Rewards Program in Germany sit roughly between €0.40 and €0.80 per 1,000 qualified views, sometimes well below that. TikTok names no fixed rate itself, because it depends on watch time, where viewers come from, engagement and rule compliance.
Does Instagram pay for reels views?
Not reliably. Instagram has no permanent, generally open programme that pays per view in Germany. Income there comes mostly from brand collaborations, affiliate links and your own products.
What is a qualified or validated view?
A view that meets defined criteria. At TikTok those include a minimum watch time and origin in a programme country. At contentmarkt the campaign snapshot sets the minimum watch time, the deduplication window and the target region; the default is Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Why do brands pay more than the platform?
The platform shares part of its own ad revenue across a very large number of creators. A brand, by contrast, buys reach in a community that fits it and compares the price with what it would pay in media costs for ads. That is why the rate per 1,000 views in campaigns is typically several times higher.
